Right. Just finished Slayer - the last Gotrek and Felix book.
Spoilers. That's twice I've told you.
Felix got married and Gotrek released him from his oath.
He and his wife settled in Altdorf, he got her pregnant but didn't know.
Ulrika shows up and he goes off adventuring with her.
At one stage or another, they run into the whole band: Max, Snorri,
Malakai and of course Gotrek. Felix's nephew tags along but sorta fades
in and out of the story as the author seems to remember or forget about
him.
It's the End Times and the Empire is wrecked.
Bretonnia, Kislev are gone, the Dwarfs are on their way out.
Snorri sobers up enough to remember his shame:
He screwed up, ended up fighting a group of dwarf scouts over their
beer.
This stopped them from warning a dwarf village about marauding goblins,
who therefore killed almost all of them.
Snorri went to the burned out village, and thought he was being attacked
by a badly charred figure, so he kills it.
That was Gotrek's wife. The goblins had already killed his infant
daughter.
That's why Snorri took the oath.
Gotrek, as has been shown/strongly hinted at in earlier books, returns
home, finds it in ruins and goes to his lord to ask why they weren't
protected and demand vengeance.
The lord basically tells him to get bent, so Gotrek kills him and his
entire court.
Then he takes the oath.
Felix ends up killing Ulrika, Gotrek finds out what Snorri did and kills
him.
Be'lakor is plotting to kill Grimnir and become the fifth Chaos god
Be'lakor kills Max.
Malakai, Gotrek and Felix, along with a small combined army of dwarf and
human survivors, travel in a new airship to find the lost shrine of
Grimnir.
It turns out to be on top of a mountain, and to be Grimnir's shrine
rather than a shrine to him: as in, he's actually there.
Grimnir takes various forms to test Gotrek and Felix.
Gotrek passes, Felix fails as he's sentimental (he chooses to "see" his
wife and daughter rather than fighting.)
At this point, Felix is shown the WHOLE battle against Chaos:one battle
line of the nations of the humans (Brets, Kislev etc), all the Elves,
Dwarfs, Orcs and Goblins etc lined up against beastmen, chaos warriors
and daemons. The Skaven are attacking everyone at random.
Grimnir fights Gotrek, kills him easily then brings him back to life
fully healed (including giving him his eye back).
He gives Gotrek his other axe and unlocks both of their full potential.
Gotrek and Felix enter the Realm of Chaos and wreck Be'Lakor's plans.
Grimnir explains this is the end of THIS world, but there are other
worlds yet to come.
He will join the other gods in fighting the lost battle against Chaos,
but the next world will need a Slayer God.
Gotrek goes off to become that God, Grimnir disappears (presumably to
Athel Loren)
Felix leaves the Realm of Chaos to find the battle he left between
Malakai et al and attacking Chaos warriors is winding down, and has been
lost.
He hides in a corner to finish his history of Gotrek
